Many many thanks must go to Jacki /Jo for organising such a great event, After competing in it we all realised how much time was spent in the preparations and great organisation. It was so popular everyone on the day wants to make it an annual event. The line up of cars at the start was really mixed. Four wheel drives ready to attack the Northland terrain if required, one supporting the rainbow flag and a Santa ,sports cars .station wagons ,one including the family animals, and how could we forget the tuatara car full of colourful people.
Thanks for the effort you made to the fun of the day.
The officials at the checkpoints were subject to bribes which helped a few of us obtain items that we couldn’t find on the day. Although this did cost us money. We headed on main roads looking for clues to our questions, sometimes we didn’t know what was happening as cars past going in the other direction. Made you check the questions a lot more carefully. Then into the forest roads going to places we didn’t even know existed. It was always good to see the checkpoint cars knowing we had done something right.
How could the Tuatara car be one of the first to start but last at the 1st checkpoint. Think you read the question wrong. It asked what were the wine tasting hours at the vineyard not taste the wine at the vineyards. We ended up in the magnificent gardens of 88Lodge in Waipapa, or a picnic lunch thanks to Geoff and Chris for your hospitality. WINNERS
