Summer Beach Party 13th January 2008
Well all the bronzed and lovely, toned and beautiful gays of the bay turned up to Wainui Bay just off the Million Dollar View Road for a beautiful day of Sun, Sand, Picnicking and Games. Anita also went for the surf option but ended up being unceremoniously dumped from her kayak onto the beach in a welter of Boobs, Buttocks, surf and soggy hair.
On arrival at the parking area the happy band were faced with the river, which divided the car parking from the beach. Rolling up trouser legs (those that had come in long pants that is) and hoisting all the paraphernalia needed for a beach party onto back and head the intrepid band made like Sherpa Tensing and strode manfully (and womanfully) into the raging torrent.
On the far bank we discovered an uninhabited land occupied by only 3 huge, ancient and magnificent Pohutukawa Trees. These proved to be perfect for keeping the happy throng well shaded during the heat of the day.
The GITB annual beach badminton contest was thrashed out with no specific winners emerging from the great fun. The annual dip into the sea proved to be a refreshing and enjoyable play in the light waves plus a game of tossing the poofter and who can get through the surf with some decorum.
I bet someone forgot their hat and sunny cream and will have gone home with more than a pink tingle, but for the rest a great day of fun friendship and laughter. (Who can possibly forget Anita with legs akimbo, I vote it for the ‘Moment of the day award!’)
