The Boys and Girls, Guys and Gals, Poofs and Dykes, and others from the Bay gathered at Paula’s barn in deepest darkest wettest Okaihau for the Gay in The Bay Annual Mid-Winter Christmas Party and what a gay ol’ great ol’ time we had.

Santa could not hire a costume to go around his portly man barrel but did this worry us? No. We had no fear for all the pressies were already stacked around the tree. Bill was on hand to distribute, handcuffs, bubbles, and all sorts of other potentially erotic material to keep us playful well after the party ended.

Our very own Jan & Anita fresh from the NZ Cooking awards ceremony staggered in under the weight of their winning award and a mighty feast prepared to ensure we all took home a bit of weight of our own.

New visitors to our happy throng from far Waipu and Auckland were fulsome with their praise for the friendliness of the locals, and the fantastic atmosphere. ‘Never been to anything like this’ said one and the other said ‘ this is the best Gay event I have ever been to”

Once more it’s all hail and praise to ‘The Committee’. You’ve done us proud again. Thank you for everything we know you all contribute to making the Bay the best place for all us fabulous folks.

Stan & Steve took the opportunity to announce to the assembled throng they are going seal their love and announced their engagement. Huge amounts of congratulations and best wishes go to them both from the gay community of New Zealand.
