Your Roving Rainbow Reporter was not able to get to Whangarei to the Tenpin Bowing extravaganza but has been able to cobble together this report to keep all those lovely Guys and Gals of the Bay and the Gals of Whangarei happy.  (Where are all the guys from Whangarei?

Are there not any fabulous gay guys in that town?  I just cannot believe a town of that size cannot produce its own true gay community.  The girls are showing the way so come on guys join in the fun!!!)

Now 20 ‘odd’ people turned up and there was some very stylish pin action. Stan’s totter and lunge was commented upon and Karen’s fingers just could not find the right balls to play with, (no wonder she’s a girl!!).  Those who said they had previously played in league teams had obviously gotten a little rusty over the years, and those who claimed to have hardly every played before where getting three strikes in a row!! (Some ringer by the name of Geoige according to the printout of achievements)

Julie also got 3 strikes in a row at the end of a game where she had only knocked over 44 pins in the first 8 frames. She claims she was holding back her talents to the end to give everyone else a chance.
In the end it came down to Steven and Ka battling it out for the highest score.  With a spare in the last frame newly blond Ka notched up to 232 to win.

Joining the band of brothers and sisters from far off Germany was a 40 something accountant who has just moved to Kerikeri. Mind you his youthful looks and Tin Tin haircut did not give the appearance of a boring stuffy old number cruncher.  Welcome to the party Marcus and don’t be upset if you get some stick from this irreverent reporter.
By all accounts another great GITB event, which I, for one, was sorry to miss.

With a new Pool table the Barn at Okaihau it really is becoming a clubhouse.  Mind you some poking sticks would really make the table something to enjoy.  Does anybody have a pair of Cues they could donate?

In August we are going to have a Movie afternoon at the barn so see you all there.  The GITB committee really do try to come up with a varied and fantastic programme.  If you have any bright ideas for a GITB event do let a committee member know.

Your Roving Rainbow Reporter
