Dear Poofs and Tarts of the Bay

What a wonderful party we all had at the infamous cattle shed, which has become our home. Paula and the rest of her lovely family have been hard at it with gusto. Now it’s resplendent with windows, a proper toilet, outdoor seating, pool table and even a bunkhouse!!!! Well done and thank you to all the Floods from big deluges to little piddles.

Again the committee had worked wonders for the annual Christmas party bash. The dance floor, the kitchen area and the food court where all spruced up and looking great.

Kings and Queens was the theme for the evening. So many of the boys chose to be Queens and the girls chose to be Kings it was hard to tell who had what between their legs but in some cases it was most definitely obvious who had what in the chest department.

Poofs and Dykes, old and new (that’s not old as in age my dears but a reference to those who have been around the GITB scene for a while and those who attended for the first time!!) came from near and far. From far flung villages on the outskirts of Dargaville, to Covent Garden in dear old London town and even Japan.

The first celebrities who joined us for the night’s entertainment were the Beverley Sisters. (Or as someone cruelly said the three ugly sisters.) All credit to Mike & Alan who created this masterpiece together with a friend who frankly gave a very wooden performance. All night long these 3 sisters could not be separated and there was much debate as to where the missing hands where. What were those hands doing beneath the beautiful full-length dress?

The evening was graced by nobility. The Empress Wasabi flew in from Tokyo. Serene and petite but also hot and spicy. The Empresses only problems where her hairpiece catching in the fairy lights and falling off her traditional tottering shoes.

Amy Winebox also made an appearance having just escaped from the drug rehab centre. Mind you Amy joined the lovely Lola (her with the legs all the way up to her pussy pelmit!!) strutting their stuff to entertain us. There must have been many a heart set a flutter watching this duo on the dancefloor.

The Hairy Fairy had more hair on her chest than an orangutan but of a similar colour and length. Differing only by being curly.

Straight from the stage of London’s Covent Garden Theatre came Dame Nina Prima Ballerina. As the lead role in the Royal Ballet Companies magnificent production of Swan Lake she brought grace and class to our little event. Her run to packed houses for at least 2 days could only be topped when this world famous ballet star performed in our humble cow shed. Here she pirouetted, and par d’durred as we all admired her magnificent boobs, which cradled her fag packet and hairy chest.

It was reported to me there were two impersonators present during the evening. Apparently The Empress Wasabi and Dame Nina Prima Ballerina could not make it in person so Stan and Steve did a plaster and paint job on two ugly buggers from the GITB gang. Well from the fact the Empress and the Dame were so beautiful and charming its proof enough that this must have been just a rumour.

Charley Chaplin was there and so was Bob Marley. Several 1970’s look alikes made up from Dad’s old clothes and even Jeremy Beadle (without the wonky hand) came and thank goodness he refrained from doing any of his famous practical jokes.

Just a few did not gender change but had great fun never the less. Those who were not there missed a great night. Fun, food, booze, laughs, catch-ups, entertainment. What more could a great party give you.

Some of us stayed overnight and what a brilliant time we had. Enjoying a wonderful breakfast, which has rapidly become the highlight of theses little do’s. The new accommodation and facilities making an overnight stay so sensible. Why risk your driving license to go home in the dark when there is so much more fun to be had by staying for breakfast.

Well this will be the last report from your Roving Rainbow Reporter for 2008 but it would be remiss of me to let the occasion go by not wishing all Gay in The Bay members, all the gay people in New Zealand and the world in general a happy holiday and a great New Year.

Finally something to think about. We in New Zealand enjoy a wonderful free environment where we can express ourselves just exactly how we wish. There are so many places where such expressions would bring ridicule, beatings, imprisonment or even worse. Just for being yourself and whom you are. New Zealand must surely be the template for harmony in the world. Where we lead lets hope these backward, bigoted countries can soon follow.
